She also reports feeling nauseous and has vomited a few times since the pain began. On examination, the patient is tender in the upper abdomen and there is mild jaundice of sclera. Her vital signs show mild tachycardia, and her blood pressure is within normal limits. Acute pancreatitis is suspected.
