A 61-year-old woman presents to the Emergency Department with acute angle-closure glaucoma, diagnosed based on history and examination. She reported sudden severe right eye pain, blurred vision, halos around lights, and nausea, which started a few hours after watching television in a dimly lit room. Her past medical history includes hypertension and type 2 diabetes. On examination: Right eye is red with a hazy cornea and a mid-dilated, non-reactive pupil Visual acuity is 6/60 in the right eye, 6/6 in the left Intraocular pressure is 48 mmHg (normal: 10–21 mmHg) The left eye appears normal.
