A 46-year-old female attends the GP complaining of increased menstrual loss of blood and pain on menstruation. When further questioned, the patient reports feeling full more quickly after a meal and some mild bloating. The GP performs an abdominal examination and feels for a pelvic mass on the patient’s right-hand side. A pelvic USS is performed and the patient is diagnosed with uterine fibroids.
